As a QA Engineer you’ll be responsible for all day-to-day testing of prioritised change delivered through Agile (Scrum)/Kanban with implementation into production on a regular basis with at least one release every two weeks. The QA Engineer will play a key role in shaping the testing practices and ensuring quality is at the heart of the product, as per the Agile ethos.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will be a key player in defining and implementing our automated testing strategy, with a focus on increasing test coverage across our existing code base and integration points.
Your responsibilities will include producing and updating automated regression test packs, designing acceptance tests through in-depth technical analysis of specifications, and collaborating as an integrated team member. As a proactive participant in agile planning, reviews, and retrospectives, you will provide QA estimation input and ensure business requirements are robust enough to define test conditions.
Executing, recording, and analysing test results, as well as identifying and reporting defects, issues, and risks associated with your work, are critical aspects of this role. Moreover, you will support the integration of an automated testing strategy into our iterative agile framework and continuously seek areas for testing improvement, implementing agile practices in collaboration with the team.
It will be your responsibility to ensure adherence to the SEFE Development life-cycle and standards, contributing to the overall quality of our software development process.
If you are a highly skilled and motivated QA Automation Engineer, eager to make a significant impact within a collaborative team, we encourage you to apply. Join us in shaping the future of our testing practices and maintaining the highest quality standards in our software development. Apply now to be a part of our innovative work environment, contributing to the continued success and excellence of our projects.
What You Will Bring

Within the team, there is a prevailing emphasis on automated testing, typically maintaining a 70:30 split in favour of automation. This individual is skilled in using Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) tools, such as SpecFlow, Cucumber, FitNesse, or comparable technologies, to evolve a resilient and comprehensive automation suite.
A crucial aspect of this role involves crafting fixtures, specifically step definitions, utilising C#. Proficiency in building continuous integration approaches and leveraging reporting tools is essential for streamlining and enhancing testing processes within the team.
The successful candidate will bring a track record of crafting well-structured automated Gherkin scenarios and will exhibit a robust command of SQL. Experience with testing large data sets, coupled with expertise in data flow and data mapping testing, is a key requirement for this position.
In addition to technical proficiency, the candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and team-working skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effectively conveying testing strategies, results, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrable experience in application testing and familiarity with application lifecycle management (ALM) tools, such as Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, Mingle, Jira, Rally, or equivalent platforms, is expected. A solid working knowledge of Agile methodologies and associated test practices is a prerequisite for success in this role. The candidate should also showcase the ability to define test techniques and coverage strategies tailored to the testing of specific requirements.
