SEFE LNG Limited (SEFE LNG) and its parent company SEFE Marketing & Trading Limited (SM&T) are wholly owned subsidiaries of SEFE Securing Energy For Europe GmBH (SEFE GmBH). SEFE LNG is an integral part of the SEFE Group. Headquartered in London, SEFE LNG is an agile LNG trader and trading partner, tasked with the key mandate to grow and optimise a global LNG supply portfolio to meet the group’s overarching strategy to secure competitive, long-term LNG supplies into Europe. Role objectives

Help deliver our mandate to grow and optimise a global LNG portfolio by originating, structuring, pricing, negotiating and closing value-adding structured LNG transactions around which the LNG Trading team will trade and further optimise.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish new and maintain existing relationships with global LNG suppliers and customers, develop leads, gather market intelligence and find deal-space;
  • Lead deal negotiations and manage the full physical deal life-cycle from inception to execution through the first ADP planning cycle, in close coordination with the wider LNG team and key support functions;
  • Close value-adding physical LNG transactions in full compliance with internal policies and procedures while ensuring robust contractual terms and conditions;
  • Accurately assess deal fair value pricing in close collaboration with the wider LNG team, considering the sources of intrinsic and extrinsic value, the associated deal risks and exposures and develop contractual / financial risk management strategies to mitigate same;
  • Develop deal documentation and present deal recommendations to senior management for approval;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the team’s global LNG strategy in coordination with the wider LNG team;


Skills & Competencies


  • Excellent understanding of the natural gas and LNG industry, value-chain and markets. Having European LNG and gas experience would be an advantage (e.g. established European counterparty network and knowledge of EU regas contracts/operations and the associated gas hub dynamics);
  • Expert understanding of LNG commercial contracts;
  • Excellent financial, analytical and economic modelling skills;
  • Excellent negotiator, able to adapt negotiating styles to achieve commercial aims;
  • Established track record of closing bespoke SPAs and MSPA/CNs;
  • Strong business acumen coupled with energy and the ability thrive in a dynamic and changing environment;
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships;
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills;
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Fluent in English. Additional language skills would be an advantage.

  • Demonstrable commercial experience in the LNG industry;
  • Track record of success in the origination, negotiation and execution of bespoke SPAs and/or MSPA/CNs with minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrable experience of accurately evaluating the economic value of LNG transactions;
  • An established network of counterparty relationships across the LNG industry


  • Educated to degree level (2.1 or above) or equivalent, with MBA preference
