We are looking for a LNG Commercial Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for the successful management of cargo operations, as well as LNG Regas optimisation and nominations for our long-term and spot deals. Providing end to end commercial operations and logistical support you will manage the implementation and execution of commercial transactions on a day-to-day basis for our global 24/7 trading activities ensuring all our obligations are met.
What you will do
As a LNG Commercial Operator you will work closely with traders and our gas desk to maximise the value-add for operations and minimize the profit leakage from our LNG contracts. Supporting the development of projects and new contracts with together our origination team, you will add value by exercising embedded commercial and logistical deal options and working on the feasibility of proposed contractual arrangements for new projects, new contracts and spot cargoes. In addition to cargo operations, you will be expected to cover shipping operations and be able to operate LNG ships under SEFE’s responsibility working closely with the chartering team. You will also be responsible for:
• Ensure that all commercial and operational obligations/nominations arising from the contracts are carried out, and that any necessary requirements are complied with. • Deal with cargo/freight counterparties and terminals regarding all pre and post deal activities.
• Manage Gas send out and LNG delivery schedules and operational programmes together with the Gas team within Europe.
• Execute timely cargo invoicing, reconciliations and clearances of accruals for both external and internal deals.
• Support commercial activities such as reviewing MSPAs, CMs, KYC and SBLC, internal discussions for trading strategy, and ad-hoc duties in relations to trading and optimization
• The operator will handle global 24/7 trading activities and the operator is expected to respond flexibly to requests outside of normal office hours.
What you’ll bring to the role
As a LNG Commercial Operator you will have previous LNG experience working in a trading environment and managing risk. With a good understanding of international trade, maritime transportation, and commodity markets, you will have a strong understanding of the drivers in LNG trading, LNG operations, Gas markets and Gas operations. You will also have:
• Problem solving skills in a time critical environment
• European language desirable (French or German preferred)
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively on short notice and out of hours.
• Degree educated in shipping/trading or finance/ science (or equivalent)
